There are many convenient airports to Padua, but maybe it is not always so easy to figure out how to reach the city by public transportations. Here we will try to give you some useful tips!

Arriving from Venice “Marco Polo”:
– there is a shuttle, run by BusItalia, which links the Venice Airport with Padua; it stops at the train station, which is around 20 minutes walk from the main places in the city center. They leave every 30/40 minutes from the Airport and take an hour to arrive to Padua. You can find more information here: https://www.fsbusitalia.it/content/fsbusitalia/it/turismo/servizi-speciali/collegamento-aeroporto-di-venezia.html.
To buy the ticket you can use the BusItalia Veneto app. More information at: https://www.fsbusitalia.it/content/fsbusitalia/it/veneto/dove-acquistare-veneto/app-busitalia-veneto.html.
– if you prefer to travel by train, you can take bus number 15 from the airport to Mestre train station – it is run by ACTV and you can buy the ticket in the airport. From the train station, catch a train to Padua (final destinations: Verona, Vicenza or Brescia).

If you like to save some money by taking the train, be care to buy a ticket for a Regionale train and to avoid the high-speed trains, like FrecciaRossa, FrecciaBianca, FrecciaArgento or Italo, which are not convenient for short trips like this one.

Arriving from Treviso:
– you can take a bus (E060-Z) from the airport to Noale, where you should change and take another bust (E060-V) to Padua. It arrives at the train station. The timetable is at: https://www.fsbusitalia.it/content/dam/fsbusitalia/documenti/veneto/orari/2024-2025-invernali/extraurbano-padova/modifiche-dal-16-9-24/Linea%20-%20E060-Z-E060-V%20-%2016.9.PADOVA%20-%20NOALE%20-%20NOALE%20-%20TREVISO.pdf.

Arriving from Verona:
– you can catch the bus from the airport to Verona train station; here you will find the train to Padua (final destination: Venezia Santa Lucia). The buses run every 20 minutes. You can buy an all-inclusive ticket from Trenitalia website: https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html

Arriving from Milan:
– if you arrive at Milan Malpensa Airport, you can take a shuttle to Milano Centrale train station; they run every 30 minutes (more information at: https://www.malpensashuttle.it/). There are several trains calling at Padua, even some high-speed trains. You can check the timetable and prices on the Trenitalia website or app.

Arriving from Rome:
– if you land at Fiumicino Airport, you can chose to take a train till Rome main train station, Roma Termini, where you can find trains going to Padua (there might be some changes, especially if you don’t take high-speed trains); otherwise, you can catch a bus till the train station;
– there are also some trains which directly link Roma Fiumicino to Padua.

Are you an international student and you want to find accommodation in Padua, don’t you? Then let me drive you towards more ways to look for the right place for you.

First of all, you need to consult a very useful office for students. In fact, The Housing Office of the University of Padua, established in September 2020, supports international students who come to Padua and look for suitable accommodation. Here the link https://www.unibeds.it/

Moreover, if you prefer managing your transfer independently, you can even search for private accommodation on HousingAnywhere, an international housing platform, where you can safely book your new accommodation, offered by verified private landlords and by outgoing students. Here the link https://housinganywhere.com/s/Padua–Italy

Have you ever heard about ESU? It is the regional body for the Right to University Education and guarantees a more accessible and equitable University. ESU provides accommodation for about 1400 students from outside Padua in its halls of residence, which are situated in the city center or near to the university buildings: such accommodation is governed by a competition. All the information about requirements and deadlines can be found every year from the beginning of July in the ESU’s website. ESU even provides university guesthouses which are available for short term stays: they are open from October to the end of July and the prices and quality of the rooms make them a competitive option not only for students, but also for teachers and researchers. Here the link https://www.esu.pd.it/en/who-we-are/

Do you prefer Private colleges and Catholic University Colleges? Check the list on the Italian website and contact them directly . In particular, the University of Padova has signed multiple agreements with some private colleges in order to reserve some places for international students. Each college applies different prices and conditions and includes different services. If you wish to benefit from this opportunity, you need to contact the college you are interested in.
